I keep thinking that I'm being a fall-scrooge. I see all of these decorations going up on blogs and find myself wondering what is wrong with me this year. I just can't get into it. Then I realize...it's not even October yet. The first day of fall was Sunday, just a few days ago! Apparently it's not just the stores that are pushing seasons and holidays on us, it's Pinterest, Instagram, and Twitter, too!
I love, love, love Cinderella pumpkins. I can usually only find them at Fresh Market and when I went in today, they only had a few. It felt a little premature buying one but I didn't want them to be snatched up if I waited.
I'm not a big pumpkin spice latte fan. I really don't think many of you really love them either. I think you love the idea of them. Crisp air, cozy sweaters and that infamous cup in your hand. But let's be serious, they're really not that great. I'll stick to salted caramel hot chocolate or caramel apple spice! I picked this Pumpkin Pie Soda up at Fresh Market as well. It doesn't have an overwhelming pumpkin flavor- more spice really but how great would this be as a float?!
I clearly got sucked into the pumpkin display. I don't usually buy jarred sauces but I'm going to give this a try. I think it would work like you'd use a vodka sauce- with sauteed bell peppers, sausage, and spiral pasta (has to be spiral!).
It is entirely too early to do the whole mum song and dance. You know the one. Buy them, they bloom, you're feeling all fall, you dead head them in attempt to keep them alive as long as possible, the person in the garden department said they'd rebloom (they lied), so you trash them and buy more. Come Thanksgiving you've spent $350 on mums. So I said it was too early....and here I sit. With two mums on my porch.
