Christmas Decorations

Christmas has come so quickly after my move that I've had little time to prepare. Luckily, almost all of my gifts are purchased (although still en route) and I used what Christmas decor that I had from the past. I had to buy a few new things, mainly a much bigger tree. Can I just say...as much as I love the convenience of an artificial tree, why haven't they found a way to make the bottom look more realistic? Hate that flat bottom! It's still a good tree for Wal Mart but I probably should have splurged for a nicer one. Nonetheless, my house is as decorated as it's going to get. I'm just pooped!

That wonky bow up top is just going to have to stay.  I found a 300 year old ladder in the garage that was so wobbly that I had to prop it up against the wall so I wouldn't fall into the tree.  Once I got it up there, it was there to stay.  Maybe Santa will bring me a new ladder for these tall ceilings!  My drapes were hung yesterday.  The rod isn't in the right stop so they're just sitting up there for the time being.  Love a bold buffalo check!!

Can't wait to get rid of those crab pillows.  I'm having new pillows made.  The beachy theme has been good to me but I'm ready to embrace a new look.

My gifts were all wrapped in solid paper. I love craft paper with a beautiful bow and in this case, an ostrich feather!

The stairs got a little something too.  I've got so many ideas pinned for next year.  I wish Christmas was still a month away so I had more time to decorate.  I have plans to be in all of my favorite home decor stores on December 26 to snag up all of the Christmas decoration bargains for next year!

  3. Have you posted about those curtains before? I love them! Do you mind to share where you found them? I have lived in my house for almost 5 years, and my great room is still curtain-less because I can't seem to commit to any. I think these just might work!! I would really appreciate any help that points me in the right direction. Thanks a bunch, and Merry Christmas!

  4. I'm not much of an advice giver....but just a suggestion: Get zippered pillow COVERS made and just slip them over the beachy pillows (or others) you already have. Saves $ on the pillow form and you can get three or fours sets of covers for different seasons, etc. Usually when you have window treatments made there is enough left over for at least an 18" or 20" pillow cover (or two). Makes sure you ask your fabricator. Love that tree!
