If you remember back a few months, I wrote a blog post about one of my favorite do-it-all guys, James Farmer. He creates beautiful floral arrangements and tablescapes, whips up classic southern dishes, and throws together perfectly planned parties. He just came out with a book, A Time To Plant, that is chock full of big beautiful pictures of his work, recipes, and really useful information. And this month, his work is on the cover of Southern Living! Needless to say, I am a big, big fan!
On Friday, I was lucky enough to attend one of his book signings at Frou Frou on Eighth in Opelika, Alabama. Frou Frou on Eighth is a great little floral shop full of southern flair and is owned by a good friend of James'.
James was a delight to meet. He took his time talking and taking pictures with everyone that was there. It's always nice to meet someone you really admire and find out they're even nicer than you'd expected. This was a total Justin Beiber fan moment for the grown up southern girl!
James' book would make a fantastic Christmas present for the gardening/entertaining lover on your list. If you have a chance to go to one of his book signings (dates and locations on his website) in your area, you won't regret it! And rumor has it, James will be on The Today Show on Tuesday, October 25.

I love his blog- and the cover of Southern Living this month is TDF! I am so jealous that you got to get your book signed. And you look adorable!
