Living Room Ideas

I just wanted to share with y'all the ideas I have had for my new living room.  I am going to take my time finding the right pieces for everything, so it will be a while before it actually looks anything like my "idea board" (which by the way, looks terrible! I clearly haven't figured out how to make the ones that actually look like the room but whatever!)

This is the living room, standing at the front door looking towards the dining room.  I apologize for the grainy phone picture.  There are a few details you can't see.  The big front window for one...it looks direclty into the living room.  The stairs are directly to the right in the picture, right when you walk in the front door, and there is a bathroom underneath them.  There are also two large columns that kind of divide the living room from the "passage way" to the kitchen.  I could stare at this living room forever. It is an absolute dream!

This is what I have in mind.

I like these layouts...

  5. GORGEOUS! I love a mix of textures (like the woven baskets under the table in the Southern Living picture.) Can you come work on my house? I just upgraded from an apartment to a house as well and...let's just say it's looking a little bare.

  6. I adore the charm, character and beauty of an older home. I've always loved the idea of having couches that face one another for conversation. Sadly, we have never lived in a home where that was possible. I can't wait to see what you do with your new place. Congratulations!

  18. I was drooling over lamps similar to that tonight at Hobby Lobby. They are $119 (crazy expensive for HL) but I figure they put everything on sale 50% every other week.
