We started out with bloody mary's and mimosas (I found a great champagne at Total Wine that made perfect mimosas...I will be sure to share it when I remember the name.)
We had a table full of good food. I brought my pumpkin spice cake pops, hashbrown bake, chicken salad and rolls, and the other girls brought monkey bread, pigs in a blanket, fruit kabobs, crescent-wrapped brie, and a few other goodies. Early games are tough to plan food for because it's got to be something that can hold up for a few hours and typical tailgate food just isn't appealing at 8am. I think we did a great job covering all of the bases with this one.
Now let me tell y'all about these bloody marys! I had every intention of making my own mix but with 5+ hours of travel time to get to Auburn, I had to limit the things I could make and bring. I was standing in front of the bloody mary section at Total Wine and a man picked up a bottle of Zing Zang and said "this is the one you want." So I went with it. I rimmed the glasses with bacon salt that I found at World Market, Todd hunted down Bakon Vodka, a shake of Crystal hot sauce, and pickled okra. For being pre-made, the guys loved them!
Despite the beautiful forecast, it was stinkin' HOT. I was very glad I stashed a little bottle of SPF 70 in my wristlet. We were all a sweaty gross mess afterwards. I can't wait for the cooler games!
I had a very sweet lady make a few gameday outfits for me. I basically drew her pictures of exactly what I wanted and she stitched them up! I have an outfit planned for every game already!
Ps. Todd and I are planning on going to the Auburn @ South Carolina game...are any of y'all? We love making new friends. :)
