The Teal Bookcase

I've been working on filling up my bookcase that we got at Scott's last weekend.  I have wanted some type of bookshelf or sideboard for a while now to display all of my little finds...I was running out of end tables and counter space.  I had to recruit the poor maintenance man to help me get it out of my car and into the house on Monday and I'm sure he was cursing me the entire time.

 

It's still a work in progress but I'm sure it's one of those things that I will change a little every time I walk past it.    That rusty black fan was a Scott's find too.  I've been looking for one for a while so I was very happy to find one for the right price last weekend.   

All of the old books are Todd's finds.  The three on the upper shelf are a series that we found at different stores so I think we will try to find all of them.

And I absolutely love my mint julep cup of cotton.  I have a big apothecary jar in the guest bathroom full of cotton bolls but I couldn't find one that would fit in between the shelves so I just stuck them all in a mint julep cup.  If I run across a smaller apothecary jar then I will probably switch it.  I'm pretty pleased with the way it turned out.
