Cheap Thrill

Did you think I was talking about you!?! Ohhhh, yeah that was a good one! I know, I know...
I was actually talking about this little lady...

In one of my previous posts I asked about the Lilly Pulitzer pens and although I still haven't written with one, I read they are a "blue ballpoint" and that's really all I needed to know. I'm a blue ink girl...I think it's because I like to rebel at work and medical records are supposed to be written in black. I like to live in the wild side.
I was seconds from ordering one on ebay for $25 without a clue what their retail value was but decided to do a little investigating to see if I was getting a deal...well, I'm glad I did because $25 was not a deal! I found this website... The Beadcage Gifts that sells all kinds of stuff but they have a good variety of Lilly Pulitzer Stationary, Party Supplies, and Gifts and from what I can tell, it's a little cheaper than retail and you get free shipping!!! I paid $14 for this pen! I think I need a mug....
At least my snarky notes passed to coworkers during our sales meeting will be written in style...

  1. I love a good pen and it has to be in blue ink too!!! My boss handmade me a pen a couple of years ago for Christmas. It's made out of "flame box elder wood" but its a beautiful pink & tan swirl pattern. It matches my Franklin Covey planner perfectly!!! I never let it leave my sight because someone will walk away with it!!! Can't wait to hear if you love your pen!!! I'll have to start buying the Lilly pens as gifts. :)

  2. OMG thanks for the heads up on this!! I just ordered one of the notepads from the new stationary collection directly from the Lilly website for $15 + s/h. Beadcage has it for $10.95 + free shipping. Lilly won't cancel my order, but they're going to check with corporate to see if they can match the price. Heck yes!!

And I too prefer blue ink. That way you can tell is the signature is real or copied...

  6. Glad to know there are other blue-ink enthusiasts out there! Any place I have ever worked has hated on blue ink. What's the deal?

Any luck on the dress search?

  11. I wish I hadn't missed the lower price!! Darn! Those pens are cute! But how does it write? I am a bit of a freak about how pens write. I will only write in my day planner with a particular one. When I move and don't get office supplies at work anymore I am going to be hosed!

  14. i LOVE a good pen! Doctor's offices seem to have the best!

One day at my grandmother's house (she's 82) I noticed that a male enhancement RX pen was laying on her bible! And that she had been using it to take notes in church!
She had no idea what it meant so I told her.
    hahahahahaaaa!
    I'm still laughing!

  17. very cute - and i agree, blue ink is better. it stands out more....black just blends w/ everything else (particularly when filling out forms, etc.)

    hope you're doing well!

  18. Thanks for sharing - I bookmarked the site! I am picky about my pens too. And, oddly enough, I love shopping for them. Actually, I love shopping for any and all office/organizing supplies.
